The Bodrum Peninsula runs from the castle and marina at its centre to a necklace of storied bays — Gümbet, Bitez, Ortakent, Turgutreis, Gümüşlük, Yalıkavak and Türkbükü — each with its own beach clubs, restaurants and character.
After dark the town is legendary: the scene stretches from İskele Square along Cumhuriyet Street — home of the famous Bar Street — with Marina Yacht Club and the venues behind the castle rounding out the centre.
